Centronics 737 Dot matrix Printer

Centronics 737 Dot matrix Printer

The Centronics Model 737-4 is a serial input, high density, dot-matrix impact printer which can print monospaced or proportional characters in line lengths up to 8 inches f2Q.3 cm), proportional and monospaced characters plus the ability to produce elongated and condensed characters make possible a wide variety of character styles.

Proportional characters may be tight justified under host control making the printer ideally suited for word processing and text preparation. Monospaced characters may be printed at 10 characters per inch or 16.7 characters per inch, providing 80 column or 132 column output for business applications.

The printer provides high-quality output using a heavy-duty print head to form up to 9 vertical and from 6 to 18 horizontal dot placements in the generation of proportional (N x 9) characters. The printer also produces monospaced characters in a 7 x 8 matrix formation. The monospaced and proportional character sets consist of 96 ASCII characters each.

This printer features selectable baud rate and character set selections for six countries: The United States of America, France, United Kingdom, Germany, Italy and Sweden/ Finland. The character set is selected by a switch pack setting prior to power-up of the printer. When the power is turned on, the printer logic recognises the switch settings and is prepared to print characters for that country.

Our printer is complete with the 737-4 Owner's Manual and large roll of paper and dates from November 1980.
